This spring/summer make sure your pets are on both heartworm preventative, to protect your pets from heartworm disease, and flea/tick preventative. We recommend Heartgard, Interceptor, Sentinel, Revolution or Iverhart as heartworm prevention medication. A Notice to Our Friends Who Eat Hill's Products:
Hill's has announced that they will be discontinuing the production of their 27.5 pound bags of Canine D/D Potato & Venison, Potato & Salmon, and Potato & Duck dry foods. Hill's is also discontinuing the production of their 15 pound bags of Canine T/D.
The change will take place March 1st, 2012. PLEASE NOTE that the formulas are NOT changing! The D/D foods will still be available in 8 lb and 17.6 lb bags, and the T/D will still be available in 5 lb and 25 lb bags.
If you would like to order any of these larger bags, please contact our clinic and place your order now, while quantities are still available!

Flea and Tick Control

As the temperature drops, fleas and ticks are trying to find a nice, warm place to hang out. That place could be your dog! In 2011, the first tick was removed March 1st, and we are still seeing plenty of them this fall.
We do recommend that animals who go to kennels, grooming, agility, or puppy kindergarten remain on flea/tick controller medicine all year long.
Fleas and ticks are just not a nuisance; they can cause an array of ailments such as allergic reactions, heartworm disease, or even Lyme disease. Controlling fleas and ticks is as easy as giving a treat or applying a topical solution once a month! With all the products that control fleas and ticks, finding the perfect product for your pet and lifestyle can be hard. Our knowledgeable staff can help you make this decision in person or over the phone.

The most important class you'll ever take with
your dog!
Start out right with your new puppy. Get help with house training, chewing, and nipping. This class is for puppies that are 8 weeks to 18 weeks. We will focus on socialization, preventing aggression, and preventing behavior problems. Pups are turned loose to play in a structured environment. Curriculum includes paying attention when your name is called, "sit", "lie down", loose leash walking, "wait", coming when called, and "drop it."
Classes are held on Tuesdays from 7:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. for 6 weeks here at Mill Creek Animal Clinic.
